Absolutely Last Minute Holiday Party Outfits
Holiday parties used to drive the sharp knife of fear through my chest. I don’t have party clothes! What am I going to wear?
Problem solved.
Turns out, we’re making this way too complicated. We don’t need a major shopping trip. All a party calls for is a few dressed up basics and a little sparkle.
These three holiday party outfits will make you feel confident as you head out the door. Simply put a little curl in your hair, put on some makeup and go get those holiday cookies (bring along these Peppermint Marshmallow clouds)!
Pants + luxe fabric top + heels + leather jacket
Casual party with friends? A pair of jeans (Kut from the Kloth) and some heels (Kate Spade) make this holiday party outfit super comfortable and yet stylish. Top it with a festive color shirt (similar) and a fitted (minus the) leather jacket (Express).
Dress + Sparkly jewelry + heels
Need to dress it up a little more? Try one of your fitted dresses (similar but warmer) and top it with a sparkly statement necklace (similar). Wrap yourself in a warm shawl (similar)
Skirt + sweater + booties
In between dressy and casual? Opt for a fitted pencil skirt (similar) and sweater (similar) topped off with a sparkly scarf (similar color). Finish with some cute booties (similar) for that comfy – dressed up look.
Or IF You Want a Fancy Holiday Party Outfit
Say its your first work holiday party at a new job or you just want to feel extra pretty. I recommend Rent the Runway for that! It’s a way to wear those designer dresses you see in Glamour and People without buying them.
Choose your dress from the Rent the Runway website. Choose the date you need it as well as a free backup size. That’s it. You can even rent the stylist recommended accessories as well.
Your dress will arrive on your chosen date. You wear it and then place it back in the garment bag and drop it off a UPS Store.
Seriously, its that easy.
I’ve used Rent the Runway for a wedding and two award shows. They are phenomenal and I always feel like a princess when I wear their dresses.
Whatever you choose to do, take a deep breath and relax. I put so much pressure on myself for these occasions and usually when I get there, everyone is incredibly relaxed and it doesn’t matter what I wore. The only objective is for you to feel comfortable and feel good. Have fun this season and have a glass of egg nog for me – preferably with rum.
