Ice Cream Pizza
Making Ice Cream Pizza
One of the big traditions in my family, especially when extended family came into town, was going out for pizza. To honor that, I created the ultimate dessert pizza using the M&M’s® Red, White & Blue Milk Chocolate.
Cookies, ice cream and M&M’s®? Oh ya, you know that’s how I roll.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 16.5 oz roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- vanilla ice cream
- pink food dye
- strawberries, sliced horizontally
- apples, peeled and shredded
- M&M’s® Red, White, & Blue Peanut
- M&M’s® Red, White & Blue Milk Chocolate
- (Optional) Skittles® Red, White, & Blue
Let the vanilla ice cream sit on the counter for 30 minutes to soften up. Once soft, transfer to a large bowl and add food dye until you love the color. This will be the “pizza sauce” however don’t feel like it needs to be a dark red. I made mine a light pink.
Transfer the ice cream back to the container and place back in the freezer to firm up.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut your cookie dough into fourths. This will make 4 pizzas. However, you do not need to make them all at once. I like making these pizzas one at a time.
Take one-fourth of the dough and use a rolling pin to flatten into a circle. I recommend doing this on the cookie tray because flattened sugar cookie dough is impossible to move and keep in one piece.
Bake for 12 minutes until the edges are set. Remove from oven and cool completely.
When cooled, remove the pink ice cream from the freezer and spread around cookie like pizza sauce. Sprinkle with shredded apple “cheese”, place strawberry “pepperoni” and top with M&M’s® Red, White & Blue Milk Chocolate or M&M’s® Red, White & Blue Peanut. You can also add Skittles® Red, White, & Blue if you like!
We cut this pizza into 4 pieces and devoured it after dinner.
